Currie Barracks Inner City Redevelopment

Client: Currie Barracks Inner City Redevelopment

Canada Lands Company is redeveloping the Canadian Forces Base at Currie Barracks. This 230 acre site is one of the largest inner city redevelopment projects in North America and consists of residential, mixed use and commercial development.

The Currie Barracks site is presently a fully functioning office and business park. Existing services will therefore have to be maintained throughout the redevelopment process. Numerous buildings will also have to be demolished, with historical sites being preserved or rebuilt. UMA’s work on this project includes preliminary design and cost estimating to determine the best Plan of Subdivision. Phase 1 is expected to be constructed in 2008.

Because of its higher density, low impact design and LEED ND criteria, it will set a new standard in land development for Calgary and Canada.
