GO TRIP Initiative

Client: Canadian National Rail (CNR)

GO Transit

 

UMA has completed or is currently providing the following services under the CN/UMA Engineering Alliance as part of the GO Transit Rail Improvement Program (GO TRIP) initiative:

Lakeshore West-West Expansion

  • Detailed design of 12 km of triple and quadruple tracking along CN's Oakville subdivision, including preliminary design, detailed design, and preparation of contract documents for track, grading, and drainage works. 
  • Contract administration support for the construction of the 12 km track expansion.
  • Contract administration support for the construction of the new rail-carrying bridge at Plains Road
  • Detailed design of watermain and sanitary sewer relocations, in conjunction with CN and Halton Region
  • Environmental mitigation design and construction support for six watercourse crossings and one significant channel reconstruction.

Lakeshore East Expansion

  • Detailed design of 6 km of triple tracking and 6 km of mainline track upgrades along CN's Kingston subdivision, including preliminary design, detailed design, and preparation of contract documents for track, grading and drainage works. 
  • Preliminary design for station improvements and expansion, at Scarborough GO Station.
  • Contract administration support for the construction of the new rail-carrying bridges at Warden Avenue and Danforth Avenue

Georgetown North Expansion

  • Detailed design of the 13 km of triple tracking along CN's Halton Subdivision.
