GO Transit

Since 2001, UMA has completed over 100 projects for GO Transit.  UMA has also represented GO Transit on many projects involving CN, CP, and municipalities in the Greater Toronto Area.

UMA was engaged to supply the following program management services under two on-going five year contracts:

  • Engineering support services related to GO Transit road and utility crossing applications.
  • Bridge engineering services to inspect 85 bridge and signal structures and culverts on GO Transit’s rail corridors.  The work includes visual inspections, maintaining a structure inventory database, report preparation and estimating repair costs and priorities.  UMA is also providing engineering services for associated emergent work.

Other projects completed for GO Transit include:

  • Enterprise Drive grade separation, Uxbridge subdivision – Design, construction coordination and contract administration.
  • Centennial Station – New station with platform, parking, “kiss & ride, communications building and shared facility agreement with Town of Markham Centennial Community Centre.
  • Bramalea Station – Conversion of the south service track to a pocket track connected directly to the CN Weston Sub. Construction included installation of three pre-cast concrete pedestrian tunnels, associated stairways and enclosures, new platform and shelters, new platform lighting, elevator and mini-platform, and level crossing for access to a new south parking lot. The tunnels were installed using open cuts after installation of temporary shoring systems to allow excavation adjacent to the existing CN tracks.
  • Bramalea Station new south parking lot – Preliminary design, detailed design, tender documents, field supervision, construction administration and management services.
