Canola Oil Crushing Plant Upgrade
Client: Bunge Canada
UMA was contracted by Bunge Canada – a global agri-business and food company – to complete the preliminary design and capital cost study their major canola oil crushing and extraction plant in Nipawin, Saskatchewan.
This project involved modernization and expansion of all areas of the plant from grain receiving, storage, cleaning, crushing and solvent extraction to meal and pellet handling, storage and loadout.
The study was successfully completed under very challenging time constraints in order to meet Bunge's annual capital budgeting schedule.
UMA subsequently completed the first phase of the detailed design in June 2006 with Bunge completing the construction and commissioning in September 2006.
