UMA is completing a three-year Individual Environmental Assessment (IEA) Transportation Improvements Study for the Region of York.

The study will investigate a full range of transportation improvements including highways, roads, public transit, rail and goods movement in the western half of the City of Vaughan.

The objectives of the study are to:

  • Secure buy-in by many diverse stakeholders for the recommended program of improvements.

The scope of work includes:

  • Project Management, including scope, budget, change control and quality management.
  • Transportation Planning, including  travel demand forecasting and modelling.
  • Environmental Sciences, including investigation of a full range of natural, socio-economic, built and heritage environment factors as well as assessment and evaluation of both broad planning level transportation alternatives and more detailed design alternatives.
  • A stakeholders’ communications program.
  • Preliminary engineering design of the roadway links in the selected network.
  • Liaison with agencies to obtain approvals and permits.
