Highway 407 ETR

UMA was the main structural designer for the east and west extensions of the Highway 407 project in Toronto, Ontario. Working on behalf of the SLF joint venture, the design-build contractor, UMA was responsible for the design of 33 structures in 26 locations for the east and west extensions of the multi-lane toll road, which runs across the northern edge of the city. Our work on the project included 2,426 metres of bridges and almost 15 kilometres of pre-stressed concrete girders.
Both the scale of the project and the fast-track schedule made this a challenging project. UMA's commitment and contribution to the team enabled the joint venture to achieve the ambitious project goals. The client gave special recognition to UMA's team for our outstanding drive, technical expertise, attention to the client's requirements, team spirit, and open-mindedness on the project.
