TRIUMF ISAC I & II
Client: University of British Columbia
UMA has been involved in eight projects at TRIUMF, one of three subatomic research facilities in the world that specialize in producing extremely intense beams of particles. The heart of the facility is the world's biggest cyclotron, which is used to accelerate 1000 trillion particles each second.
We were the project and construction manager for the ISAC I (isotope separator and accelerator) project and now the ISAC II project. This unique radioactive beam facility will help meet the demands of the nuclear physics community worldwide.
