History
UMA has been building communities and the industries that support them for almost a century. Some operational milestones are listed below:
- 1911 – Franklin McArthur and A.A. Murphy form a partnership in Saskatoon.
- 1926 – Ed Underwood and Roy McLellan rename the firm Underwood & McLellan.
- 1952 – The firm becomes Underwood McLellan & Associates.
- 1954 – Expansion into Calgary and Winnipeg.
- 1958 – Regina office opens.
- 1965 – Edmonton and Vancouver offices open.
- 1966 – Toronto office opens.
- 1976 – UMATAC Industrial Processes is incorporated.
- 1983 – The firm begins operating as UMA Engineering Limited.
- 2004 – UMA joins AECOM Technology Corporation.
- 2006 – UMA obtains ISO 9001 certification.
- 2007 – KMK Consultants Limited merges with UMA.
- 2008 – Earth Tech, Gartner Lee, TSH and UMA all become known as
AECOM
