Introduction
Founded in Saskatchewan in 1911, UMA provides consulting, engineering and project management services to the community infrastructure; earth and water; energy and facilities; and transportation market sectors. We have more than 1,200 employees in offices across Canada, from BC to Quebec. For almost 100 years, clients have turned to our people for quality results, innovation and professional excellence.
In 2004 we joined the AECOM Technology Group (NYSE: ACM), a global provider of professional technical and management support services with more than 30,000 employees around the world. AECOM serves clients in more than 60 countries and has annual revenue of approximately $3.4 billion. AECOM professionals around the world are united by a common purpose — to enhance and sustain the world’s built, natural and social environments.
Our affiliation with the AECOM family of companies supplements our local understanding with world-class technical and project management skills to provide our clients with a valuable competitive edge.
In 2006, UMA became ISO 9001 certified. Recognized worldwide as the standard for quality management systems, ISO 9001:2000 is a set of generic management system standards that allow organizations to measure their quality management system through independent audits.
While obtaining ISO certification has validated our hard work, it doesn’t end here. We will continue to seek smarter, more efficient and effective ways to do our work. ISO is just one step in a long journey toward better quality service, and we will continue to learn along the way, and make improvements when necessary.
